PixelStick also has a very neat ability to show the center point betwee two points. I tried my best.)Īnyway, I thought I'd mention this other app also, for you to decide whichever you prefer. (Sorry if my english fails me and if I'm not making any sense in that observation report. Maybe they are both right (I read something on PixelStick's website about the fact that there is a difference between pixels and points, and that OSX uses mostly a points measurement system.) Note that I'm not a rocket scientist, so my test might be totally faulty. When I brought a screenshot picture of these two apps into Apple's Preview application, and cropped the image after the two application's ruler start and end points, it turned out that the measure given by PixelStick was the same as the new cropped image's size. But, again, I got an even/uneven mismatch in the pixel values. According to my test, using these two programs simultaneously, they give different measurements, and there was no way I could have been mistaken, since one app gave me an even pixel value and the other one gave me an odd pixel value, so if I had somehow misinterpreted their graphical gui's, the results should have differed with 2 pixels (depending on where you presume that the ends of their 'rulers' are). I made a pixel test using these two apps and I got different results. Not that it costs very much, but I thought I'd mention a tip about a similar, free application also. A really stable, good looking and nice app. Screen Calipers is good looking and ran flawlessly when I tried it.
